During pregnancy, changes occur in your body. These changes cause you to have to give up some of your habits.
One of these habits is how you sleep.
Here are some of the changes that happen to you during pregnancy:
- Heartburn
- backache
- Shortness of breath
- insomnia
From about week 20 onwards, you must sleep on your side.
The best sleeping position during pregnancy is SOS mode, which stands for Sleep On Side, which means sleeping on your side.
Sleeping on the left side :
During pregnancy, it increases blood flow to the fetus and provides more nutrients to him.
It also anatomically reduces the pressure on the internal organs of the mother and is much better for the mother and fetus.
>> It is better to fold the legs slightly inside the chest and put a pillow between the knees <<
Sleeping on your back :
This sleeping position causes back pain, respiratory problems, digestive problems, hemorrhoids, low blood pressure and reduced blood circulation between you and the fetus.
Sleeping on your stomach :
As you reach the last months of pregnancy and your abdomen gets bigger, sleeping on your stomach is less important, but you should avoid this position anyway.
Do not roll over during the last months of sleep during pregnancy and be sure to rotate slowly.
This does not cause the umbilical cord to rotate around the fetus and has no dangerous consequences. If you need to change the direction of sleep, first start rotating from the head and then the other parts, respectively, and change the direction.
